Powerful and rich wine but round and supple on the palate. Its smoky bouquet evokes vanilla, violet and black fruits.
This wine macerated for 5 weeks under marc, then was aged for 9 months in oak barrels. It is a wine with a 10 year ageing potential: wait until at least 2020 before drinking it, it improves with the years, the 2000 vintage was excellent after 12 or even 13 years!
If you drink it before it is 6 years old, decant it to oxygenate it before serving. It is excellent on a wild boar stew.
